RECEPTION BASELINE ASSESSMENT : a new way of measuring progress for primary schools

Each year the school complete the government Reception Baseline Assessment. Information about the assessment can be found in the below leaflet and also on this video called Reception baseline assessment: a new way of measuring progress for primary schools, that you can watch on YouTube by CLICKING HERE

The assessment will be carried out in the first half term. Your child’s teacher will carry out the assessment on your child. The activities are fun and engaging and it will be a lovely opportunity for the class teacher to work one to one with your child.

Warm Regards,

Sophie Wantenaar

MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

Dear parents and carers of new Reception children,

Links to both the school medical and dietary forms were sent in the initial induction pack. Very few parents have completed them but it transpires there are numerous children with special dietary needs and medical conditions the school have not formally been advised of. Apologies if this process was unclear, we hope the below provides clarity:

MEDICAL CONDITIONS

If your child has a medical condition the school need to be aware of but does not require a member of staff to administer medicine during school hours, please ensure you update the medical section in Arbor.

If your child has a medical condition the school need to be aware of that does require a member of staff to administer medicine during school hours (be it ongoing e.g. inhaler or auto-injector or ad-hoc, e.g. anti-biotics or calpol), please:

(1) complete the medicine authorisation form by CLICKING HERE providing authorisation for a member of staff to do so.

(2) ensure you update the medical section in Arbor.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

Even if your child brings in a packed lunch from home, the school must be informed of any dietary requirements. This is to ensure when carrying out class room activities or going on a trips, we are fully appraised.

We are a nut free school but regardless of this, the school need to know about any food based allergies and it is the dietary section that needs to be completed on Arbor (not the medical).

Please can you:

(1) complete the below special diet request form by CLICKING HERE informing the school of all requirements.

(2) ensure you update the dietary section in Arbor.

Both these forms can also be found on the school website under: Parents/Links, forms & info
