The Governors' - who are we?

Duncan Barkwith

I have been a Foundation Governor since 2015 and have had the privilege of being the Chair of Governors since 2017. My focus is to ensure that each and every child reaches their full potential during their time with us at Reigate Parish.

Katie Cornish

I joined the Governing Body as a Foundation Governor in February 2017 and it has been such blessing to work alongside such an inspiring and committed team of people. I have two daughters at the school in Years 2 and 5, who are thriving as a result of the first-class teaching as well as the creative and nurturing environment. I am therefore fully committed to offering my support and professional skills to ensure that the Senior Leadership Team, Teachers and Staff maintain and strengthen their unique ethos so that all children at Reigate Parish have a happy and nourishing educational experience. As a member of St Mary’s Church Family, I am particularly committed to ensuring that the Christian values of the School remain at the centre of all things.

Andy Course

As one of the most recent members of the governing body, I cannot wait to play an active part in helping the school ensure every child achieves their best. I have been a school governor for nearly 10 years, and I am also currently the Chair of Governors at Brooklands Special Needs School. I am an Associate Governor here at Reigate Parish and I hope to bring all my experience to bear to help ensure a bright future for the children, their families, and the whole staff team

Frances Davis

I joined the school in January 2010. As the Headteacher of Reigate Parish I have the privilege of being a member of the Governing Body and working with them to continually improve the opportunities we offer for all our children for them to learn, grow and develop. The Governing Body and staff team are dynamic, forward thinking, progressive and are dedicated and determined to ensure all children reach to achieve their best, which is the school’s vision.

Jill Day

I joined the Governing Body as Staff Governor in 2018 which has allowed me to see what great work the Governors do in supporting this school.  My association with the Reigate Parish started when my sons attended the school, first as parent and then as staff.  My boys are now both in their early twenties – I prefer not to count the years any more closely than that.  Although my role has changed over time, for the past five years I have been the Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA).   I am now also the Safeguarding Governor and look forward to working with the amazing, caring, committed staff in this important role.

James Dilks-Hopper

I was elected as a Parent Governor in 2018. With two daughters in Year 3 and a younger third daughter that I hope will also attend the school in future, I am committed to the continued success of this outstanding school. I use my background in strategy and accounting to support the Leadership Team in continuing to invest and make the best use of the available resources to provide a learning environment that brings out the best in every child. I am also the Treasurer of the Governor Fund

Laura Ingle

I joined the governing body as a Foundation Governor in September 2020. I am a parent at the school, with daughters in Year 1 and Year 3. Over the past three years I have really enjoyed being part of the community at Reigate Parish and am looking forward to the new challenge of being a governor and working with the rest of the team. I bring my experience as a clinical psychologist and have a particular interest in the emotional well-being of the children, families, and staff team at the school.

Tom Glover

I am a parent governor with two daughters at Reigate Parish. It is a wonderful school that I am proud to play my part is supporting. I have worked in and around education throughout my career both at the Department for Education and in my current role at Ambition Institute, an education charity. I hope to bring these experiences and knowledge to help the governing body and the school continue to thrive.

Sarah Kennedy

I joined the school as a teaching Deputy of an Infant School in 2012. Since then I have worked with the Governors and Head to manage the expansion of the school to an Outstanding Primary School. I love teaching and find it as rewarding now as I did when I first started. I feel blessed every day to work with incredible staff, parents, and governors at a school that values creativity, kindness, and everyone reaching their full potential.

James Lister

I joined the governing body as a Foundation Governor in September 2020 and am looking forward to helping maintain and grow the success of the school. I have two daughters at the school already and have seen first-hand how the school’s values and ethos work to bring education and opportunity to the children.  I have been a trustee of the YMCA DownsLinkGroup and YMCA Guildford since 2012 and am hoping to be able to bring that and my background as a lawyer to help support the leadership team and governing body to further the school’s vision over the coming years.

Anna Randall

I have been a Foundation Governor since 2015. With three children at Reigate Parish, I have seen first-hand the impact of strong leadership. In my role as Vice Chair, I remain committed to maintaining, and building on, the high expectations we have for every child at our school. Our Governing Body is focused on working with our dedicated and hardworking staff team to fulfil our vision: that every child will reach to achieve their best.

Mark Trewinnard

I am thrilled to be a foundation governor at Parish school. I have two children who attend, currently in Year 4 and Year 2 and they adore the school. I am currently teaching at a Special Needs School in Surrey and coming from an Education background has helped in my role as a governor. As a family we have been attending St Mary's Church for a number of years with both our children being christened there.  I enjoyed supporting the school and staff over the last few years and watching it develop for all the children and staff.

Tim Wakeham

Since the start of 2020 I have been the Local Authority Governor at Parish, I enjoy contributing to the evolution, development and success of education at the school adding a commercial and digital lens to the challenges and scenarios that are raised through my experience working in sales and partnerships at a Digital Marketing business.  My family lives locally and I work in Reigate, my daughter is 7 and keeps me focused on the importance of the school environment and experience from a child's perspective too

Richard Wilson

As the Vicar of St Mary’s Reigate, I joined the Governor’s when I arrived in July 2018.  It is wonderful to be a part of such a strong team here.  Having been a governor for 18 years I am very keen to play my part in creating a school environment that values every child’s unique character and personality, and which supports parents in their primary role, enabling children to flourish.  It is a delight to see children learn within a Christian environment where questions of faith and meaning are woven into every aspect of learning, alongside prayer and reflection.

Alasdair Wylie

I have been a governor at the school since 2015 and currently have a daughter in year 4.  I have seen the school transition from an infant school to a fully-fledged outstanding primary school and it has been great to see the school and staff develop over this period.  I chair the children, standards and learning focused FGB meetings where we review the extensive analysis of the school’s ability to teach our children to learn from a broad and exciting curriculum.
