Water Aid
Water Aid
Four year 6 children are courageous advocates
for justice and responsibility
Four year 6 children have planned, written and organised this appeal:
Why we have chosen this charity, Water Aid, is so that we can help someone, even if they are miles away we can donate to them. The charity helps install taps, pipes and toilets for children and families. So we have decided to do a charity event inside our lovely school.
The things we are selling are bracelets, books, bookmarks, art sets, bead sets and accessories. This charity, also links to a story about 10 men with leprosy. Jesus told the men to go down to a river to cure themselves because everyone hated their looks and never went near them. So Jesus healed them and they jumped with joy but one man got down on his knees and said “thank you Jesus.” This story links to being grateful for what you have and because others are less fortunate than you. Then like with clean water, would you like to help us raise some money for the charity? Another bible verse says ” like cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.” Proverbs 25:25.
Our shared stories:
My friend lives in India and she has clean water but she sees loads of people who have to walk many miles to find clean water. But for us we can just go to our nearest tap and we have lots of clean water. It is hard for the people because they deserve the right to have clean water like us.
This is my story about the time when I visited my dad’s cousin in Mauritius. He has friends that walk for miles to get water. Then when they arrived their only sight was a dirty river, and they could have been severely ill if they drank it. So he had to walk miles again to find clean water.
Spreading the word
“We won't stop until everyone, everywhere has clean water” says the charity. You can visit their website to learn more.
We are only four girls, so the difference we make may be small, but by you donating loads, small differences can make one big one.
Please come to our sale in the playground after school on Friday 15th November where we are selling are bracelets, books, bookmarks, art sets, bead sets and accessories.
Thank you.
