OLIVE DINING - SIGNING UP FOR SCHOOL DINNERS IN SEPTEMBER & CLEARING EXISTING BALANCES
Dear parents and carers,
As you might be aware the school has a new catering company, Olive Dining, delivering nutritious, hot meals from September 2026. We are pleased to confirm that the daily cost of a school dinner in KS2 will remain unchanged at £2.90.
Please refer to the Parents/School dinners & milk website page or use the below internal link to view the school menu and information regarding their special diet process and dietary requirements form.
Please complete the Allergen Form if your child has any allergies and has special dietary requirement.
We are working closely with Olive Dining to ensure a smooth transition. To minimise any disruption, please make sure your child’s Arbor meal account balance is settled before the end of term.
As we prepare for the new school year, we are asking families to sign up for school lunches from September by completing the Google Form below:
Please complete the form as soon as possible so that we can finalise our lunch arrangements for the start of term.
Current Year 2 Parents:
As Universal Free School Meals are no longer provided in Key Stage 2, please let the school office know as soon as possible if you do not wish your child to continue having school dinners from September and would prefer them to have a packed lunch instead.
If you do not inform the office of any changes to your child's packed lunch arrangement, you will be charged for any hot meals prepared for your child.
Thank you for your cooperation.
If you have any questions, please contact the school office using info@reigate-parish.surrey.sch.uk

IMPORTANT NATIONAL CHANGES TO FREE SCHOOL MEALS (FSM)

Dear parents and carers,
I am writing to inform you about important national changes to Free School Meals (FSM) that will take effect from September 2026. These changes may affect your child’s eligibility, either now or in the future.
What is changing?
From September 2026 all children in households receiving Universal Credit will be eligible for Free School Meals. This means many more families will be able to access Free School Meals. They will be available to families that receive one or more of the following benefits:
• Universal Credit
• support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
A child is only eligible to receive a Free School Meal where both:
• a claim for this support has been made
• their eligibility has been verified by the school where they are enrolled or by the local authority
Households may also be entitled to a meal if they:
• are in receipt of income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• receive the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
• have no recourse to public funds.
Why apply?
Registering for free school meals can:
• Provide free, nutritious lunches for your child
• Help the school access additional funding to support pupils
• Ensure you receive any related support you may be entitled to
End of current protections
At present, once a child qualifies for Free School Meals, they usually keep that entitlement even if family circumstances change, this is called Transitional Protection. This protection will continue until the end of the 2025/26 school year. From September 2026, eligibility will be based on your current circumstances. This means some children may gain or lose eligibility depending on changes to household income or benefits.
What should you do now?
• If your child already receives Free School Meals, you do not need to take action at this stage. We will contact you if anything changes
• If you think you may be eligible, please complete the attached Free School Meal entitlement checker form and return it to the school office
• If your circumstances change, please notify the school at your earliest convenience
These changes are designed to help more families access Free School Meals. We encourage all parents who may be eligible to apply and ensure they receive the support available. Please contact the school should you wish to discuss this confidentially.
Yours sincerely

Mrs Frances Davis, Headteacher
