GORILLA CLASS - STAFFING UPDATE

Dear Gorilla parents and carers,

I am writing to let you know that Mrs Fraser will be absent at the end of June and throughout July as she is having an operation. Her last day in school will be Wednesday 17 June. She is hoping to return briefly at the end of term to say goodbye to the class, although this is not yet confirmed.

I have put a clear plan in place to ensure consistency for the children and that learning continues without disruption.

• From Thursday 18 June, Miss Heath will teach the class on Thursday mornings and all day Friday.
• An experienced supply teacher will teach Monday to Wednesday; I will confirm their name once recruitment checks are complete.
• Thursday afternoons remain covered by our existing PPA teaching arrangements.

Miss Heath is one of our SCITT (school centred initial teacher training) trainees and has been working in school all year, primarily in Year 5. She already knows a lot of the children and is looking forward to teaching them.

The planning for the lessons will be led by Mrs Ould Ameur so that the continuity of learning and progress is unaffected by the changes in teacher. Mrs Fraser will be writing the end of year report for your child that comes out in July.

Please be reassured that this plan is designed to provide stability and continuity, and the children will continue their learning as planned during this period.
