RPCPS CHILDREN READING WITH CONFIDENCE

Our aim is for pupils to leave our school, able to call themselves a fluent reader but parents also play a vital role when supporting their child with reading everyday.

Please refer to the below letter directing parents to content on the school website that can help you to encourage and guide your child when reading at home. It also provides you with information about how the school teach children to read.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT CATERING AND EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR SCHOOLS AND SETTINGS PROVIDED BY TWELVE15

Dear parents and carers,

Surrey County Council is currently undertaking a review of its school catering and equipment maintenance services, provided by Twelve15. Throughout Surrey there are many ways in which schools procure these services. Some choose to procure these through the council, and others use private providers.

As you may be aware, councils are currently facing financial challenges across the country and because of these challenges, we must regularly review the services we offer, including discretionary services such as Twelve15, and make changes to ensure long-term sustainability.

As part of this review, several options have been considered for the future of catering and equipment maintenance for the Council to remain both effective and financially stable. These options will be presented to Surrey County Council’s Cabinet on 23 September with a recommended way forward.

The option Surrey County Council is recommending to Cabinet is to consult and engage upon the closure of the Twelve15 service. You can read the Cabinet paper here.

It is important to note that, at this stage, no decision has been made. However, should Cabinet agree with the recommendation, Surrey County Council would consult with staff and schools to inform a final decision on the way forward.

If the service was to close, schools would procure a new service provider and school meals should continue to be provided.

Another update will be shared after the Cabinet meeting, when a decision about next steps has been made.
