SATS IN YEAR 6
Dear parents/carers of Year 6 pupils,
In May, schools administer the mandatory end of key stage 2 (KS2) national curriculum tests and teacher assessments to understand how pupils are performing against the standards set out in the national curriculum.
The government provide guidance for families. Please refer to the link below:
The information about national curriculum tests at the end of KS2 provides an overview of:
- the purpose of the mandatory tests and teacher assessments
- when they are scheduled
- when results will be shared by schools
The information about assessment results at the end of KS2 explains:
- what information you will receive about your child’s assessments at the end of KS2
- how the outcomes of the national curriculum tests and teacher assessments are reported
- how the results are used
We will be holding a SATs information evening in early January 2026 for parents/carers of children in Year 6. A letter with more information will go out after half term.
Kind regards,
Mrs Stow

YEAR 6 FOOTBALL TEAMS - GIRLS AND BOYS
Dear parents and carers,
On Monday 8th September, Year 6 pupils are invited to try out for a selective football club which will begin running from Monday 15th September. As this is a trial, children will need to take part to be considered for selection of both the boys' and girls' squads. If for any reason they cannot attend, please let me know and I can have a discussion with their teachers as to how we can find other ways to see their footballing abilities (such as in PE).
Children need to be aware there is a possibility they will not get into the squad due to numbers and/or ability. Whilst we encourage all children to reach for their best at Parish, we also recognise the need to field competitive teams for sporting purposes. Following the trial, if you receive a direct invite, it means your child has been invited to join the squad.
The expectation will be that if a child is trying out for the team, they are agreeing to attend every Monday for training similar to other clubs. If a child does not turn up to club repeatedly, they will lose their space in the squad and will not be eligible for selection for competitive fixtures/tournaments.
Children need to wear appropriate footwear (no metal studs), and suitable clothing for running in. Shinpads are not mandatory for training (they are in matches) but would be recommended for safety.
The same fees apply as they would to other school-run clubs up until the end of Autumn term. Depending on communication/organisation across schools, fixtures will be played throughout this term also - light and weather permitting.
Any questions please contact me.
Kind regards,
Mr Murtagh
