YEAR 4 HIGH ASHURST SOIREE
Dear parents and carers,
We would like to invite you to the Year 4 High Ashurst Soiree on Wednesday 5th November at 6pm. This will be an opportunity to view the photos and videos from High Ashurst with your child. The event will finish by 6:30pm.
Please enter the hall through the side gate (where scooters and bicycles go).
Due to limited space, we can only have two adults per child attend. Siblings are also welcome.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Ould-Ameur and Mrs Fraser

SURREY PRIMARY SCHOOLS MUSIC FESTIVAL AT DORKING HALLS
Dear Year 4 parents and carers,
We are delighted to announce that Year 4 has been allocated a place at the Surrey Primary Schools Music Festival at Dorking Halls, Reigate Road, Dorking, RH4 1SG on the evening of Tuesday 24th February - the second day back after the Spring half term holiday. This is one of a series of concerts where schools from all over the county join together to perform - so we will be on stage with hundreds of other children!
In the past, we have taken just the choir to take part in this event, but this year, we intend to take the whole of Year 4, in order to give all the children the opportunity to perform on a real stage.
We will provide further details before the Spring half term holiday but we wanted to make sure you have the date booked to make sure that your child is available to perform.
The day will involve the children leaving school during the afternoon to rehearse at Dorking Halls, then eat a packed tea, and then perform. The concert will start at 6:30pm and finish by around 8pm. All children should be collected by parents or carers after the concert.
The programme, on the theme of folk songs from around the world, involves 10 songs. The children had an introductory online session this week with the conductor.
The lyrics and backing tracks are accessible via the following link so your child can practise the songs and learn the lyrics at home: it will all need to be from memory at the concert! Please do not share these login details with anyone else.

HIGH ASHURST - FINAL LETTER
Dear Parents & Carers,
Can you believe it, High Ashurst is just over a week away. The staff team are very excited and final plans are in full flow. We have an awesome time away planned and a great team going with us! We thought it would be useful to remind you of some key points before the weekend, so have reattached the kit list.
Since the start of September, we have presumed that Arbor is up to date, and planning the trip using these details. Please update us on the morning of September 29th if medical or dietary have since changed. The information that you gave us originally has been communicated to High Ashurst, however we must have the most up to date information please.
For the first day, children will need to bring their own nut-and sesame-free packed lunch and a water bottle.
Mrs O’Flynn and Mrs Fraser will be available to receive all labelled medication and medical forms in the Junior Hall from 8.45am. Please refer to the below link to the Medicine administration form.
If your child needs to take travel medication before leaving school, please give it to them at home.
Please say goodbye to your child at 8:35 and we hope to leave school at 11:00. On the return to school, we hope to arrive around 2pm. If you would like to come early to pick up your child, you are very welcome to do so. Please come to the Studio to collect – we will just need to sign you out by a teacher. An important thing to note is that siblings will be dismissed at the usual time of 3.15pm so that other classes are not disrupted. You can enjoy some special time with your year 4 child.
If you will not be picking up your child early, please pick up your child promptly at 3:15pm from the Studio. Medicine can be collected from staff inside the studio.
The overall kit list has not changed - in short, it's practical comfortable clothing and outdoor shoes please, suitable for a range of weathers and adventurous activities.
We will aim to encourage the children to build in times of quiet, so would urge them to pack a reading book and or magazine/a small activity such as a Rubik's cube/pack of cards/notebook/pencil case, that sort of thing. We will also take games and activities with us. Please explain to your child that everything must be labelled, and we can't promise that items won't get lost. Please don't let them pack anything they really care about.
So that you are aware, we will not be telling the children in advance which sleeping accommodation or activity groups they have been allocated. The children have all had time to think, and opportunity to let teachers know which friends they wanted us to consider. The teachers also know the children really well and have made a commitment to the children that they will spend time with the friends on their list. Thank you for trusting us, we have used our knowledge and listened to the children.
During the visit there will be a number of familiar and experienced adults supporting the children. Jaguar children may wish to know that Mrs Ould-Ameur will accompany the children for all the daytime activities but will not be staying overnight.
Should we have concerns regarding your child's health whilst we are away, we will ensure they receive appropriate care and would remain in contact with you. If it were deemed appropriate for your child's well-being to come home we would need to be able to phone you. Please be available to us by phone night and day, and able to collect your child if necessary.
We will not be allowing children to have access to electronic toys or devices apart from night lights so please leave these at home. No sweets or treats due to allergies on site and in our group. Thank you for supporting us with this.
Kind regards
Mrs Fraser, Mrs Ould-Ameur and the High Ashurst Team
