Year 3 Harvest Festival
Harvest Week in Year 3
This week, the school has been celebrating Harvest Week, learning all about the importance of giving, gratitude, and helping others in our community.
Year 3 have been at the heart of this special week. They created thoughtful and eye-catching posters to encourage everyone to be advocates for those living in food poverty, reminding us that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.
The children have worked hard preparing and performing their Harvest Celebration Assembly, sharing songs, poems, and short plays that reflected the themes of thankfulness, generosity, and community spirit. Their performances reminded us all how fortunate we are and how important it is to care for one another.
In art, the children produced beautiful and colourful pieces inspired by their favourite foods, celebrating the abundance we have and learning to appreciate it.
Looking ahead, Year 3 have already started to plan for Kindness Week next week. They have been exploring how they can continue to be more kind, more generous, and more giving — both in school and in their local communities. How can we think more, feel more and do more?
To finish their Harvest celebrations, Year 3 led a school-wide food collection for Loveworks, a local charity that provides emergency food supplies to people in need. Thanks to the generosity of families across the school, a wonderful number of donations were collected. Every tin, packet, and treat will help ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.
Together, we can make a difference — one act of kindness at a time.
Thank you again for all of your generous donations,
Mr Dowie and Mr Hayden
