Maths learning at home - Moving away from Mathletics and using Times Table Rockstars

In recent months, you may have noticed the addition of Times Table Rockstars (TTRS) on your child's account. This is because we are changing the ways in which we teach and consolidate number facts in school. We are moving away from the live maths features found on Mathletics and using TTRS to specifically improve children's recall skills on the multiplication facts needed to access the curriculum, especially in KS2 where children will apply these facts to word problems and reasoning questions.

You may also notice that Mathletics will no longer be used for homework. We have decided to use a new system - White Rose Maths. We already use this programme as our scheme of work for maths throughout the school and their homework is directly in-line with what is being taught week-by-week. This will allow for further consolidation of the skills taught in school. This homework will be available either on the White Rose Infinity App or via the web browser

We hope that with these amendments to the children's learning, they will be more confident and competent mathematicians.
