Autumn (2) term 2025

wc 15th December 2025

HONEYBEES TEACHER

Dear Honeybees parents

I recognise that the children in Honeybees have faced a number of challenges this term and that, at times, the experience has not unfolded as any of us would have hoped. As reflective leaders, Mrs Molica and I have spent time listening carefully to feedback and considering the specific needs and experiences of the children. We have been working thoughtfully behind the scenes and will be using the Christmas holidays to finalise a clear and refreshed plan for Honeybees. I will share further details with you in January, when the new term begins.

I have on Thursday 18th December appointed a new Teaching Assistant for Honeybees to replace Mrs Hutchinson but until all the recruitment checks can be done one of our LSAs will be the TA support to the class.  When the new TA starts I will let parents know.

Have a lovely Christmas and see you in January  for the start of the spring term.

Kind regards

Mrs Davis

YEAR 2 SPELLINGS

Dear Parents

Next Friday 14th November there will be a test of the 'Week 2' common exceptional words that are wild, climb, most, only, both, old, cold, gold, hold, and told.

The Year 2 homework document lists the common exception words (CEW or "Red Words") to be learned each week in every half term; the link is here https://primarysite-prod-sorted.s3.amazonaws.com/reigate-parish-cofe-aided-primary-school/UploadedDocument/c2884de3-3e13-4657-a264-7d5a4bc78bf5/year-2-homework-1.pdf.

We will be sending home the children with a checklist of the Year 1 and 2 Red Words that you can use to help your child learn them. We do practice the “week 2” words in class ahead of the test on 14th November. These spellings relate to writing targets set by the Government, that state children are expected to know most words on the Year 1 CEW list, and many words on the Year 2 list, by the end of Year 2.

Many thanks for your support

HONEYBEES CLASS - MRS HUTCHINSON RESIGNATION ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Honeybees Parents and Carers,

I am writing to let you know about a staffing change in Honeybees class.

Mrs Hutchinson, who has been working as a Teaching Assistant in Honeybees, has resigned from her position to explore new opportunities. Mrs Hutchinson’s last day with us will be the end of this term.

Mrs Hutchinson has been a valued member of our school community for over 12 years, and she will be sad to leave.  We are very grateful for her dedication to our pupils and the positive contribution she has made during her time at School.

We will ensure continuity of support for the children in Honeybees class and will share information about arrangements for next term in due course.

Kind regards,

Frances Davis
