KS1 MILK
Dear parents and carers,
Please can you have a conversation with your child to establish if they are drinking the milk you are ordering them and whether they still want it.
Every week we have a lot of milk left over that has to be thrown away. It is a waste of your money and a waste of milk!
Many thanks,
Jane.

MUSICAL PERFORMANCES IN YEAR 3 & 4
A key part of our music curriculum is performance, and so we have looked at the way that all children can have an opportunity to perform in Lower Key Stage 2.
This year, Year 4 are all performing as part of the Surrey Arts Singing Festival in February 2026 at Dorking Halls.
At Easter, Year 4 will lead the Easter service at St Mary's Church, Year 3 having done their Harvest assembly in the Autumn term.
The Year 3 and 4 Summer Concert takes place in the Summer term, and this year comprises of class songs and poetry recitals with no soloists (instruments or singing). Learning a range of poetry off by heart is part of the literacy curriculum.
Grooveline (the school’s peripatetic music provider) will be organising and putting on a Summer Performance in the summer term where children they teach will perform instrumental soloists. The aim is to have this as an annual performance and year 4 will be invited to play (year 3 musical students will wait until next year to perform, which is what we have had in the past that musical instruments were played by children in year 4).
It is exciting to hear of the ways, old and new, that we enrich our curriculum with music and poetry, performance and recital.
Many thanks,
Year 3 & 4 team.

CHRISTMAS SERVICE FOR KS1 - RECEPTION, YEARS 1 & 2
Dear Parents and Carers,
I wanted to let you know that this year, Reception and Key Stage 1 children will not be attending the Christmas service at St Mary’s. The service lasts around 40 minutes, and as the children are still quite young in the school year, we feel it is best for them to remain in school on this occasion. They will have their normal morning’s lesson.
They will, however, join us for our Easter and end-of-year church services later in the year, when they are older, and the format and length of the service will be more suitable for them. We do each week gather together as a whole school for collective worship so the children have regular times when the whole school come together.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Kind regards,
Mrs Davis
