PTA information

What is the PTA?
We are, as parents of children at the school all part of the PTA - The Parent, Teachers association. There are two co chairs, two assistants , one treasurer, one secretary and four trustees. they are elected by you to run the PTA.

We are all long time mums at the school, who have a desire to see the school and the PTA work in partnership, with the expressed wish of providing both enjoyable and profitable family events.

Our Aims

Our aim is to plan and organise social fundraising events for the school. We meet on a regular basis to discuss future events and to discuss how monies raised will be divided and spent.
We work along side our Headteacher to ensure our children have access to additional learning and equipment. This may take the form of art and dance workshops, school outings and new playground/classroom equipment. These events are run in conjunction with topics relevant to the current curriculum. The children benefit greatly from these extra activites, as it does much to broaden their experiences at this fantastic school. 

Events Planned:

Music Quiz Friday 10th October 2008:
We are starting off the new term with a Music quiz, so get your teams together and prepare to show-off your Music knowledge!
The Quiz night will be held at Reigate Hill Golf club, from 7.30pm, tickets cost £5pp, there will be bar food available on the night (approx £6 pp), and drinks will be able to be purchased from the bar.
Booking forms have been sent out with PTA email, if you need another one or more details please speak to Lucinda or Fenn.

Firework Night Saturday 8th November 2008:
A date for your diaries, come along and enjoy a glass of 'Mulled Wine' and a bite to eat at our truly fantastic Firework evening. There is lots of planning already underway and booking forms will be email out shortly, Thank you to Andrea Lacey and Nicky McAllister for organising this event.

Christmas Shopping Evening Friday 28th November
Come along and enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie while you shop for christmas at our Shopping evening, there will various stalls to look at - if you would like to have a stall yourself, please complete the booking form which was attached to PTA email, tables cost £10 each, if you would like any other information please speak to Fenn or Lucinda.

Christmas Fair Saturday 13th December 2008
Again lots of planning already underway, thank you to Gill Tomkins, Annette Hooper and Tara Gold who are organising this popular event, more details will follow.

School Calendars;
These were a sell out! we are looking to order more of these truly wonderful calendars and will let you know as and when we have been able to do this.

Recent Events: include Ye Olde Traditional Summer Fayre in June, the May Ball and the planting session. You can read about these and more past events here.

Maths Bags
One of the projects the PTA has funded are Maths Bags for the children of Years 1 & 2 to borrow and improve their numeracy skills. Thank you to Cecilia McCullen who is organising these and getting them all ready to go out shortly, if you can help with checking the bags please speak to Cecilia or your class rep.
