Putting the fun into fundraising

On Tuesday June 23 we asked the children to come into school in football gear to help us support the Bobby Moore Fund. The charity is sending a team of volunteers to South Africa next year to renovate a dilapidated school and a football pitch in partnership with the local population.
The project will give the local children and their parents the chance to continue their education in their own village, close to their families, rather than being obliged to move away. We tied this mufti day in with our sports week because as I am sure you are aware one of Bobby Moore’s biggest claims to fame is being the only England captain to have lifted the World Cup.
We managed to raise almost £100 to go towards this worthy project, whilst the children had a wonderful time! For more information about the project visit www.cancerresearchuk.org/bobbymoorefund/getinvolved/events/projectsouthafrica/
