Snapshot of 2010 - 2011
We had a fantastic 2011 and with the money raised the children enjoyed different activities and performances during the year. Please read the full report at the end of this page for full details, however here is a brief list of what we purchased for the school:
- A visiting author, Winston, who came during Book Week and engaged children in all year groups in storytelling and songs, with a Caribbean feel
- A British male gymnast visited during sports week.
- 5 scientists from SATRO, came for Science Day.
- The performance in the summer term was ‘The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse’, performed to the whole school in the hall
The PTA also funded new equipment in school:
- Each class had a new computer
- 3 visualisers for the classrooms
- ‘Espresso’, an internet type programme that can be used for whole class teaching in every subject and ‘Mathletics’ - the children enjoy having this resource at home to use and teachers use it, when needed, as part of their teaching
- We have completely re-fitted the library
- During the summer holidays the canopy around the outside of the school was extended to give Dragonflies class a larger outdoor space. This is being used for practical maths activities, art activities and play when it is wet.
