Extended Services

Welcome to Reigate Parish Church School’s Extended Services page. In 2003, the Government published a green paper called Every Child Matters. The green paper built on existing plans to strengthen preventative services by focusing on four key themes:
  1. Increasing the focus on supporting families and carers.
  2. Ensuring necessary intervention takes place before children reach crisis point and protecting children from falling through the net.
  3. Addressing the underlying problems identified in the report into the death of Victoria Climbié – weak accountability and poor integration.
  4. Ensuring the people working with children are valued, rewarded and trained. Every Child Matters is the Government's aim for every child, whatever their background or their circumstances, to have the support they need to achieve five core outcomes.

Extended services are the delivery mechanism for the well-being of all children and young people.

“Extended schools are Every Child Matters in action.”
Ed Balls, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, September 2007

Home School Link Worker (HSLW) Cindy Morris is a HSLW working in our school on Mondays. She provides a service supporting families to strengthen the partnership between school and home, in particular signposting to other external services.
